Color Theory

I was doing some digging today and found some neat stuff that I did a few years ago. I think it was about three year ago. I was at Seneca for Art Fundamentals and this was a second semester class. Everyone had to keep a sketchbook for a final mark and these pieces were a part of mine. The whole sketchbook is about 14x11 inches. I'm also planing to frame some of this stuff, and possibly put it in my room.

I think I called this one "Nature and Urban" as a sort of mixing of patterns and forms. One as curvy and the other as stiff. This covers one whole page of the sketchbook, I can't entirely remember what I was thinking when I made this. It was a long time ago.

This one as you can see focused on pointillism and opposing colors. There's actually green spots on that red apple. It's more to bring out the darker parts of the apple with out adding black to the painting. This picture is tiny, its about 5.5x7.5 inches.

I remember this being something about a repeating pattern and promote color harmonies. Colors that just mesh well together to create something awesome is the way I see it. This piece covers the whole page of the sketchbook.

This one was supposed to be about emphasizing a color. A part of me wants this picture to be a bit darker, I probably will go ahead and make it darker at a later time. When I have a bit more time, granted I don't misplace the sketchbook and find it four months later. Again this covers the whole sketchbook.

Till next time!

Abstract wigs

Hi everybody! Today I bring you another self portrait, me without my glasses and with a wig. I would love to own a wig like that and not be mocked on the streets. I say we bring these wigs back! Whose with me?!
This is a small painting 9x12 inches, and it was used for a study for the painting that I posted on the last post.

This was a painting for my mother, I have yet to hang it up, we don't know where to put it just yet. She recently had the walls painted and a lot of things re-done. This painting is 2x2 feet and I love that its so square. I don't get to paint squares very often.

See you guys next time!

Double self portrait all the way!!!

Sorry about the long hiatus folks, but I was knee deep in essays and homework and finials are soon approaching. However I have some new stuff to show you. It's another painting that I recently completed. I have  the work in progress photos as well. Its 2ft by 3ft and it took a lot of paint!

As you can see here I drew out the whole thing and then painted over it.

And yes this is a double self portrait. But I personally like my self as the geisha a lot better.

Till next time!

Painting of Four

Well hello again!
This time I bring you a series of four paintings that required me to be the model. They are done very recently and are supposed to be unique aspects of my body and one thing that represents me. The style of the paintings had to be quick brush strokes and not too polished.

This first one is of my knee where I had a brutal escalator accident. Trust me stairs are not my friends (even the moving ones).

This painting is of my birthmark found on my right side, and yes those white lines are stretch marks.

There's this crazy thing my finger does and I think I captured it really well here. Can anyone else do anything like this?

The last one is of my glasses. I love these things, I can't live with out them. My mom happened to be looking at them when she was wanting to clean and tried grabbing to put them aside only to realize they weren't real. Love you Mom!

Well till next time! Bye!

Paintings!

As promised, finally paintings!

This one was done in high school as a portfolio piece for my grade 12 year.

This is from last year for a color theory class and it's a portrait of myself. If you squint hard enough you can see me! Try it! This sort of painting is very meticulous each square had to be painted in an individual color plus each also had taped off so that it could have the clean line.  And that's 187 squares!

Until next time!

Fingers

Hello people of the internet! I thought I'd post some studies that I've done of my hand, the left one in particular. I'm right handed after all. And it is called a Tactile drawing, where I wasn't able to completely look at what I was drawing, just small glimpses here and there. And for the second picture, it contains nudity!

This is a study of the internal workings of a human body, there is the ghostly aspect of the darkened lines to suggest a spine, the hips and a rib cage.

I'm planning to put some painting in next week, and I'll make sure to put in some comics soon! Promise!

Sick

I've been sick for the past couple of days and just lazing about and getting a lot of attention for my mother. :)  Well more drawings! The next time I post I'll put some paintings in, I promise! And yes as always, this post does contain nudity!
